Writing Prompt: What’s a moment when a stranger completely restored your faith in people?
When out in the world, I like to pretend I am a fly on the wall that no one will notice.lol
Recently, I went to my local shop and when I entered, the clerk, a warm and loving older woman, saw me and beamed from ear to ear and shouted, “Hey! There’s my friend!”. I looked around, slightly confused. She walked over to me and said, gleefully….”Give it to me!”. Confused again, I patted myself down and wondered what she wanted, I smiled and said, “What would you like, I will give you what I have in my pockets.”lol (socially awkwardness on full blast 😭😩).
Suddenly I felt a pull and now I was hugging a stranger.lol She proceeded to say, “You always make my day when I see you!”. I just smiled, confused but it was pleasant, like a hug from your grandma.lol
As I walked back to the counter to pay for my fur babies food, I overheard her speaking with her co-worker. “I like to show people love because you never know if you are the only one to show them love and appreciation that day. They may not have a mother or anyone to show them.” 😶😅😶🌫️
I was taken aback!
That interaction showed me the love of God in people. Just when you believe all hope for humanity is lost, the light always shows in the dark…..
