Writing Prompt: What’s a song that always puts you in a good mood?
My family loves music. My favorite memories as a youth are waking up Sunday mornings to the smell of coffee and the smooth sounds of Sade, Miles Davis, or whatever mellow jams my father was in the mood to play. To this day, Sundays are my favorite day of the week.
There are so many songs that put me in a good mood. So much so that I can not pick a single song but an entire band.
Dance Gavin Dance. By the name, you can catch the vibe.
Whenever I feel down or happy, Dance Gavin Dance is my go-to. Once I hear a riff from Will Swan, immediately, my body responds, and my mood is lifted. When Jon Mess hits the fry vocals, his skills give me goosebumps.
Dance Gavin Dance is the only band that can change lead vocalist and still keep the essence of who they are. Every lead vocalist from Jonny Craig (flawed, but his voice is undeniable), Tillian (his falsetto is unique and can only be matched to Circa Survive’s lead singer, Anthony Green), and now the new guy(so far, so good, he’s still finding his unique voice).
Out of all 11+ albums, my favorite is “Happiness”. Its a dance party in an album. I also like there other band, “Secret Band”, created because their initial lead vocalist (Jonny Craig) didn’t allow them to go as hard as they would’ve liked. I am such a fan, I also enjoy all of their instrumental albums because I love the actual band.
Whenever I feel down or just bored, I remember, Happiness is only a click away. I remember that the Pantheon Mothership is Instant Gratification After the Artificial Downtown Battle Acceptance Speech.
