Writing Prompt: What’s a thing you were completely obsessed with as a kid?

My favorite movie as a youth was “Toy Story”. Buzz Lightyear was my favorite character. I remember going to Burger King with my parents, back when they used to sell big toys. With extreme determination, I was on a mission to add the big Buzz Lightyear to my already growing collection, which included Mr. Potato Head, the Army Soldiers, Woody, the Alien, and now…..Buzz Lightyear.

Excited, I asked the cashier to add the “Big Buzz Lightyear” to the order. With a look of disappointment, she explained they were sold out. Immediate meltdown.lol I refused to go home or straighten up until I got my Buzz Lightyear, and off to K-Mart we went. It was not lost on me the level of extreme bratiness needed to accomplish this task. An occasion I will always oblige.

Everyone would tell me to get my head out of the clouds. Looking up at the stars gave me a sense of comfort. A reminder…of home. My obsession from childhood has never left. My love for exploration of the stars, to Infinity and Beyond!
