The “trend” of spirituality is on the rise. Everywhere you turn, you see a “Guru” speaking about manifestation, meditation, chakras, and so on. If you feel drawn to these people and their energy, it is a sign that it is time for you to embark on your spiritual journey.

Why Start a Spiritual Journey

Why embark on a spiritual journey? You don’t have to be spiritual to be a good person, some would say. A spiritual journey is for personal growth and development. The world we live in is spiritual, whether we believe in it or not. Spirituality opens you up to what can be see beyond the 3rd dimension. So, if you are ready and willing to take the big leap, here are the steps that will help you along your path.

Step #1 in starting a spiritual journey is to ask yourself if you are in a place where you feel spiritually fed. What that means is you feel like you are living your life purpose. If you answered yes then you are definitely on the right track and if you answer no well now’s your time take a step towards your emotional fulfillment.

The importance of having a daily routine. A healthy daily routine can involve a number of things. Physical activity, emotional and mental activity, and spiritual activity. This can look like taking time in the morning before jumping up and starting your day, you take a moment to check in with yourself. Next, get exercise! Preferably in the sun to energize you. This will make sure you are mentally prepared to take on the day and whatever life throws you away.

Step #2 in starting a spiritual journey is to start a meditation routine. Meditation allows you to constantly check in with your energy and ground yourself. Meditation also helps you clear your thoughts and find your focus. If you have any questions then answers will surely be provided to you during meditation when you release all outside noise.

A family that mediates together, stays together

Meditation is prevalent in many cultures and in the spiritual community because it allows you to connect yourself with the universe and everyone in it. In this state, you understand that you are one with all and everything is interconnected.

Step #3 in starting a spiritual journey is breath work. Why is breath work so important? Yogis focus intently on breath work because the act of breathing opens up different portals of energies in your body. Different types of breath work have the ability to heal your body while breathing. This typically consist of taking big breaths, slowly being held in. When exhaling it increases the oxygen flow to the organs in your body which promotes their functionality. Breath work can also be used to heal yourself from traumas. Step #4 when starting a spiritual journey is to start a spiritual practice. If you are not sure which to start, social media is always a great place. There, you can easily find like minded individuals and see their different practices to find what works for you. Spiritual practices are not one-size-fits-all. You must find what you resonate with the most. This could look like doing yoga or setting altars, there are many ways to start a spiritual practice. As long as you feel connected with source consciousness and it helps you gain new perspectives, then you do not need to follow any one prefixed course.

 Step #5 is finding a peaceful space for yourself where the strain and stressors of the outside world cannot reach you. Napoleon hill talks about, in one of his lectures, how there are different levels of access that people had to him. The highest level of access, the only one who could reach him was spirit, not even his wife. In this time, he would come up with his most creative and brilliant ideas. This shows the importance in having a safe space for yourself on this journey.

Peace comes in many forms

These are the basic steps in starting a spiritual journey. Not everyone’s journey looks the same, but if you can find like minded individuals on the path, they will help guide you along the way.
