A Calling Home (Poem)

1–2 minutes

To read

Phinizy Swamp (Augusta, Ga)

These streets we roam

Familiar like home

Although I’ve never been

This journey has bought me to this place

A calling of internal grace

Peaceful and green

Ever so Inviting

It is the history of my ancestors

Shining upon my face

Engulfing my body in love and radiant warmth

Washing away the bitter taste of Songs unsung

Of stories never told

Now this moment shows my fate

The anchor to all

Grounding souls on rolling shores

Deserted land hiding green pastures

Fruitful and abundant

Partaking on golden plates

Recalling our royalty

A love calling home
